SPM Instrument offers condolences following the passing of Mr. Eivind Søhoel, inventor of the SPM Method
It is with great sadness that SPM Instrument shares the news of the passing of Mr. Eivind Søhoel.
The SPM method was invented and patented by Eivind Søhoel in the late 1960s. In 1970, SPM Instrument was formed to exploit and productify the method. As the company’s technical manager, Mr. Søhoel’s technical brilliance and dedication helped lay the foundation of what has now been over forty years of successful development of industrial condition monitoring equipment.
In 1979, Mr. Søhoel moved to the United States to set up an American SPM subsidiary. After leaving his position as Managing Director of SPM Instrument, Inc., he worked as a technical consultant for the company until his retirement. Eivind Søhoel passed away at the age of 78, after a long period of illness.
Remembering the groundbreaking work done by the late Mr. Søhoel, SPM Instrument board, management and staff would like to pass on its sincere condolences to the Søhoel family.
